What should I expect at our first session?  

At our first meeting, I will spend time getting to know you and learning about your goals and challenges. In addition to gathering information about what is going on in your life and your past history, I will leave time for any questions or concerns you may have.  

Curious about therapy but not quite ready to make an appointment?

You may reach out to me by phone or email and I will happily answer any questions you have. The first step after reaching out is to schedule a time to speak by phone before the initial therapy session as this allows the patient and therapist to decide if the fit feels right and discuss any questions or concerns the patient may have. 

What benefits can I expect from working with a therapist?

People often feel that they are able to develop a stronger sense of self and feel more in touch with their emotions after working with a therapist. There are things that you may not want to discuss with friends or family. Therapy is the perfect place for these discussions. There may be areas of your life where you feel stuck. Therapy can help you untangle complicated emotions and work towards changing those patterns.
